My son (who was 4 years-old at the time) wouldn’t stop asking for “colourful walls”. At the time we’re all on lockdown and for some reason, everybody had a rainbow on their windows. Of course, he wanted a rainbow too.
I took his wishes as an opportunity to make the upcoming sharing-his-room-with-his-little-sister situation a positive experience and something he would always remember as a net gain, not a loss.
Due to the room’s layout, a classic arched rainbow wouldn’t work. I reimagined its shape to be more accommodating to the layout and future changes. The modern approach would also work in a room that was shared between a brother and sister, not hinting to any gender specific preference, and increase the decor longevity, due to its timeless principles (geometry) instead of chasing trends.
