Your questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about booking a custom mural with me — from the first inquiry to the finished wall.
Most custom murals take 3–5 weeks from your initial deposit to the final brushstroke. That includes the design phase (mood boards, sketches, mockups, your feedback, and approval), wall preparation, and installation. The painting itself usually happens over about a week, depending on size and complexity. You'll get a clear timeline up front, so there are no surprises.
Not at all. I use high-quality, low-VOC interior paint — the same finish you'd get from a professional paint job. If you ever want to paint over the mural down the road, it can be covered with regular wall paint and standard priming. No special removal process, no wall damage.
This is one of the most common questions I hear from parents — and honestly, most kids love their murals far longer than you'd expect. But when the day does come, the mural can simply be painted over like any other wall.
A few families also choose designs intentionally so they grow with the child — landscapes, abstract patterns, botanicals, and florals tend to age much better than character-specific imagery. We'll talk through this in your consultation, so the design feels right for years to come, not just months.
This is your space, so it's very much a collaboration. We start with a consultation where I learn about your vision, the room, the colours you love, and the feeling you're going for. From there I create a mood board and concept direction for you to react to before any painting begins — nothing is a surprise.
You'll also see a detailed mockup rendered on a photo of your actual wall, so you know exactly what to expect. And with up to 3 rounds of revisions built into every package, there's plenty of room to refine and adjust until it feels right.
That's exactly what the mockup and revision stages are for — we sort all of that out on screen, long before any paint touches the wall. If something isn't working, we adjust it together until you're genuinely happy with the direction. My goal is for you to love the final piece, so I'd never start painting until you're excited about the design we've landed on.
With proper paint and a clean wall surface, your mural will last as long as your wall does — typically 10–15+ years with no noticeable fading, assuming normal use and indoor conditions.

Yes — light wall preparation is included in every package. This covers patching small holes, fixing minor dents, and light sanding to create a smooth, even base for the paint.
It doesn't include full wall sanding, wallpaper removal, or covering and moving outlets, switches, or fixtures. If your wall needs more extensive work before I can paint, I'll flag it during our consultation and point you toward the right tradesperson, so your finished mural looks its best.
Three rounds of revisions come with every package. In practice, most clients are happy after one or two adjustments. If you ever need more than that, we'll talk it through — additional revisions are available, but it rarely comes to that.
Yes — I work throughout the GTA. Projects within Toronto, or a 20 km radius, have no extra travel fee. For locations further out (Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Markham, etc.), I add a modest travel fee that I'll quote up front. For projects outside Ontario, please reach out and we can chat.
I usually book 2–3 months ahead, with longer lead times in spring and early summer — once school lets out, family schedules open up and that becomes a busy stretch for projects. If you're working toward a specific date — a baby's arrival, a birthday, a move-in — please get in touch as early as you can, so I can hold a spot for you.
I'll ask you to clear the wall I'm painting and move anything within 4–5 feet of it out of the way. Larger furniture (cribs, beds, dressers) can usually stay in the room if it can be shifted to the centre and covered with drop cloths. I'll send you a clear prep checklist before installation day.
Absolutely — and some of my favourite projects are full-immersive. The Enchanted Fairy Forest Treehouse is a great example: every surface in the space was painted. Multi-wall and ceiling work is priced based on total square footage and complexity, and we'll talk through it in your consultation.
My peel-and-stick wallpaper and decals are perfect if you want a quicker, lower-commitment refresh — or if you're renting, working with a smaller budget, or want a custom look that ships anywhere. They use my original designs, are removable without wall damage, and arrive ready to install. Browse them in my shop.
A custom mural is the right choice when you want something truly one-of-a-kind, hand-painted to fit your exact space and designed around your family's story.
